Itinerary

1. Meet the Huskies

Your adventure begins at the Fitjakot Husky Farm, where you’ll meet the huskies that will accompany you on your hike. These strong, friendly, and eager dogs are excited to get moving! You’ll have time to interact with them, learn about their training, and get to know their personalities before heading out on the trail.
 

2. Safety Briefing & Introduction

Before setting off, your guide will provide a safety briefing. You’ll learn about the hike, how the huskies will help you along the way, and essential tips to ensure you stay comfortable and safe during the hike. The experienced guides at Husky Iceland will also explain the trail conditions and make sure you’re fully prepared for the experience.
 
 

3. Hiking with Huskies

Once you’re all set, it’s time to start your hike! The huskies will lead the way, and you’ll follow the scenic trails through some of Iceland’s most beautiful landscapes. Whether you’re walking through lush valleys, alongside sparkling streams, or up to sweeping mountain vistas, you’ll be treated to stunning views at every turn. Meeting Point

We and our sled dogs are based about 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. The road is well maintained no matter what the weather is. We have secure parking at our base camp facility for vehicles and RVs.

They led the way with such enthusiasm, and it was amazing to see how strong and well-trained they are. The surrounding scenery was just breathtaking, didn't expect that the landscape could be so beautiful and wild at the outskirts of Reykjavik! The dogs were such great companions, and their energy kept us going. It was a truly unique and memorable adventure.
